Hi there! I'm Tatiana Balashova, a professional photographer specializing in baby and family photography. My passion is capturing those precious first-year milestones, especially the joy and wonder of cake smash sessions.

With over 14 years of experience photographing babies and families, I've developed a gentle approach that puts both parents and little ones at ease. Every session is carefully designed to capture your baby's unique personality in a fun, safe environment.

My style combines natural lighting with thoughtfully designed sets to create timeless images that preserve these fleeting moments of babyhood. I believe these first milestones deserve to be celebrated and remembered in beautiful detail.

When should I book my cake smash session?
I recommend booking your cake smash session at least 6-8 weeks in advance of your preferred date. This gives us plenty of time to plan the theme and details. The actual session is typically scheduled 1-2 weeks before your child's birthday.
Do you provide the cake?
I work with several local bakeries that specialize in smash cakes and can arrange for the cake at an additional cost. You're also welcome to bring your own cake if you prefer. I'm happy to provide guidance on cake sizes and styles that photograph well.
What should my baby wear for a cake smash?
Most parents choose a special outfit that coordinates with their theme - typically a cute dress for girls or suspenders/bow tie for boys. We'll start with clothed photos, then often move to just a diaper cover or cute bloomer for the actual cake smash. I'm happy to provide styling advice prior to your session.
How long does a cake smash session take?
Cake smash sessions typically last 60-90 minutes. This includes time for regular portraits, the cake smash itself, and optional bath photos afterward. I never rush these sessions as babies need time to warm up to the environment and get comfortable with the cake.
When will we receive our photos?
Your online gallery will be ready within 2 weeks of your session. From there, you can download your included digital images and order any prints or products you'd like. Rush processing is available for an additional fee if needed for birthday parties or announcements.
